ICOs represent a new type of financing method that enables startups to raise capital from a large number of mainly small investors. This thesis examines how investors navigate this new investment environment. Across three studies, the composition and interaction of various investor groups are investigated. Furthermore, the thesis analyses to what extent investors are able to identify successful startups.
